Best buy for a bound budget.
By Randle Kregh
I have the heftier model, 6 GB RAM; Dual-Core; 1TB HDD; running Windows 7 Home Premium. This computer and OS were made for each other. If you are excited about the release of Windows OS 7 as much as I was, you are going to want this machine or extremely similar.
I knew what I wanted, and all I needed was the tower. I looked all over the net for something as reliable as eMachine (my previous one lasted an incredible 5 years and still took a beating with heavy loads all the while running fast). I couldn't find a suitable eMachine running Win7, but knowing that Gateway builds those and Compaqs, I decided to spend the extra cash for this system.
Setting aside aesthetics with its awesome placement of the power button, USBs and Digital Card readers; black glossy finish with chrome accents; uniquely designed keyboard and optical mouse, this computer runs fast and stays quiet. Start up time seems to decrease with every reboot, peripherals plug and play instantly, HD video and audio output make this perfect for anyone connecting this your HDTV (up until now I had yet to fully utilize my HDTV for what I bought it for almost 3 years ago), and did I mention it looks pretty sitting next my desk?
I don't have a million bucks to buy top of the line stuff, but this system sure puts me up there with and above the fat cats who spent 4 times as much as I did. Kind of makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Terrible experience
By B. Zachary
I purchased this computer from Best Buy on 10/27/09 and it worked until 1/7/10. The hard drive failed. Best Buy repaired the hard drive under warranty and I have spent the last 6 weeks or more trying to obtain ,from Gateway, a set of recovery disks that will work. The Tech. support experience has been awful and Gateway "has no Customer Service Department" according to the Tech. Support department. I have tried to reach a real person to complain by calling and e-mailing both Gateway and Acer with no luck. Save yourself some grief and buy some other brand.

This is the one!!!
By Allen P. Weltlin
I bought this computer around Christmas and do not regret it at all. I spent days and days trying to find the right computer to do school work and for personal use. Well let me tell you I found the one and this computer rocks. I have had no problems at all with it. It has plenty of HDD space and memory for the price. I have to be honest I was skeptical at first but who isn't when purchasing a computer. There are so many to choose from. I put all kinds of music and videos on this system and it seems like nothing can slow it down. I upgraded to Windows 7 Professional and I could not , or would not go back to Vista or even XP for that matter. Microsoft finally got something right this time with Windows 7. Any ways all and all if you are looking for a computer and thinking about purchasing this one, then I have two words for you. DO IT!. It is well worth the price and you won't be dissapointed.
